A letter from Cheryl Etheridge Dear Friends, It has come to my attention that OU has decided that the Symposium will not occur this coming summer (2011). I want to thank all of you for your many years of support. Dave and I always looked forward to the Symposium in order to hear the wonderful clarinet artists who were so kind to take time out of their schedules to perform and give master classes. Just as important was the idea that we were going to see friends who came year after year. I look forward to continuing these friendships during the coming years. I also want to thank Angela Carter for the tremendous work she has done for many years and also a thank you to Erica Egli and Julianne Kirk who preceded Angie. It takes a very organized and dedicated person to accomplish what each of them did. Dave often said he could not have done it without their year-round dedication. Of course, Dave would also want me to thank all of the many wonderful clarinet students who provided so much help during the Symposium each year. He was proud of the way they helped everything run smoothly. I also want to recognize and thank all of you who were so generous and made it possible to bring top quality musicians here to participate in the Symposium. Dave was always very grateful for your support. When the new clarinet teacher is selected I am in hopes that he/she will want to present their version of the symposium in 2012. Meanwhile, Angie will continue to monitor the Symposium website to make upcoming announcements.
